REDBRICK ARTISTS

We call ourselves The Redbrick Artists because we originally came together as a group sixteen years ago and met in the local mill of that name. At the beginning of 2022 we relocated to the centre of Dewsbury where we have a large studio space and are supported by the charity *Brigantia Creative” which is a community based project.

 

The group’s members are drawn from various areas of West and South Yorkshire and meet at least twice a week. Each artist has their own story to tell which results in a remarkable, diverse variety of painting and drawing styles.

 

We are rooted in a collective desire to share learning experiences, support, encourage and move forward together in our practice.

 

There are twice monthly life drawing sessions where non members are welcome. In addition we also hold monthly ‘Show and Tell’ sessions where we can choose to share new courses, methods and materials or request guidance on works in progress.

 

We also hang regular exhibitions, at least twice a year, to promote and publicise our group’s work. This year you will find a display of pictures and drawings running from March 23rd for some weeks in the Princess of Wales Shopping Mall in Dewsbury.
